Faucet installation will vary depending on the make and model of the faucet fixture you have selected. For best results, follow the instructions provided with your faucet fixture or contact a licensed plumber.
Before You Start
Step 1: Assemble all tools listed on the installation sheet or on the faucet box, and place a towel over your sink to protect from scratches and dropping small pieces down the drain.
Step 2: Turn off the water supply from the valves underneath your sink, then turn on your faucet to release any pressure built up in the lines and let remaining water run out.
Remove Existing Faucet
Step 1: Disconnect the supply lines from the bottom of your existing faucet, and remove the mounting nuts with a basin wrench. Penetrating oil may help loosen the nuts if they are old or corroded.
Step 2: Remove the old faucet by pulling it upward from the top of your sink deck, then clean the surrounding area to start installation.
Install New Faucet
Step 1: Insert a rubber gasket or plumber’s putty on the base plate of your faucet to create a watertight seal, then place your new faucet in position on your sink.
Step 2: Put the faucet body through the holes, and then from under the sink, thread mounting nuts onto the faucet shaft. Center the threaded shafts in the holes of the sink, and tighten the nut firmly.
Step 3: Use Teflon® tape to wrap around the faucet threads to establish a tight seal.
Step 4: Reconnect the water supply lines, and turn on the water to make sure all connections work correctly.
Step 5: Remove the aerator from your new faucet, and let water run through to flush out any residue left by the manufacturer. This will ensure your new faucet runs clean.
