Step 1: Remove the old shower head. Wrap a cloth around the shower head to protect it from wrench marks, then turn it counter-clockwise to loosen and remove it.
Step 2: Seal the threads of the shower arm. Use pipe-wrap tape to seal the connection in the arm of the shower. Firmly pull the tape and wrap it tightly around the threads several times.
Step 3: Place new shower head onto shower arm. Thread the shower head onto the shower arm, and turn it clockwise several times to keep it in place. Wrap a cloth around the new shower head to avoid wrench marks, then tighten the shower head into place.
Step 4: Check for leaks. Turn on the water and make sure there are no leaks coming from the new shower head. If there are no leaks, hop in the shower and enjoy your new shower head. If leaks are found, remove the new shower head, re-tape the shower arm, then re-install the new shower head.
